CREATIVE COMPOSITION: Junior Gretchen Bagby presented art she drew in Mrs. Wilkins art class and which was inside of DMs art gallery. Mrs. Wilkins says she enjoys teaching art. “It’s my joy, my joy everyday,” she said. Desert Mountain takes pride in the art of this school, and in fact various galleries and murals throughout the school display students art.

To prepare for opening night of Pippin, seniors Sydney Grom, Charlie Lester, Swae Miller-Estabrook, Samantha Landay, Morgan Taylor, Len Wang, Jojo Miller, Shannon Gyger, Sawyer Furio, and freshman Josh Roga practice the song “Glory” as theatre director Mr. Willingham looks on.  “Gosh, there are thousands of musicals,” said Mr. Willingham, in his second year as DM’s theatre director, “and I would say that Pippin is in the top 50 musicals that are done hundreds, if not, thousands of times a year in this country,” says Mr.Shad, the play director. 

Pippin will open at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2 and will run through Nov. 5.

These CTP cast members--Sophie Perlstein, Eli Bizon, Mikayla Glancy, Jack Yampolsky, Lauren Reilly, Caroline Brinton, Isabella Marias, Macie Wilson-- polishe their performance of Be Kind, performed in January in area elementary schools. The fact that you are the ones creating a world for kids to relate to and learn from, said cast member Lauren Reilly when reflecting upon the Project, Hearing the kids reaction almost kind of gives us the same happiness the kids are feeling.
