Cierra Johnson, Opinion Editor

Cierra is an International Baccalaureate (IB) student aiming to graduate from the IB program and high school in May of 2022. Following this, she plans on pursuing a career in journalism by earning an undergraduate bachelors degree in journalism, along with participating in a study abroad program in Latin america in order to support a minor in Spanish.

She earned her Seal of Biliteracy in Spanish, volunteered at the Shea Hospital, and participated in various IBSA projects. During high school, she has volunteered for political campaigns, delivered a speech on the theory of consciousness at Project Captivate, and is a very active member of Pickleball Club. Along with this, she has an extensive past in animal care, having volunteered at the Phoenix Herpetological Society. Art and music play significant roles in her life, having played 13 years of piano and spending her free-time painting and sewing. Spotify wrapped will tell you her top artists are The Weeknd, Mac Ayres, Kanye West, and Motley Crue.

Working with a variety of communities and countries has been her lifelong aspiration, and only recently has she discovered the path to achieve this is through journalism. A passion for language has grown and developed since she learned how to write, and now, she channels this love into writing literature.
