Madison O is a freshman at DMHS and in the class of 2025. This is her first year writing for the Wolf’s Print, and her first year taking Journalism.

She has been apart of the High Honor Roll and the BASIS Goodyear 90’s Club at her previous schools. She has won awards for dance, gymnastics, and cheerleading. Some fancier awards that she has received include the Principal’s Award and first place in the “Beauty and Beast” art competition.

In the fourth grade Madison’s history teacher, Ms. Johnson(may she Rest In Peace), had the class write a book about Arizona. Her book “AZ Places” is about the tourist attractions Arizona has to offer. During the summer of 2017 Madison wrote another book. This time it was a book about traveling the USA. “Route 66” was written based off of her travels to fourth of the fifty states. The book remains unfinished and unpublished. Works like ”The Land of Stories,” by Chris Colfer, “Harry Potter,” by J.K. Rowling, “Chasing Augustus,” by Kimberly Newton Fusco, and “Inside out and Back Again,” by Thanhha Lai were big inspirations for Madison. She also liked to create picture-books which her friends.

When Madison was in the third grade she wrote and autobiography. “Chapter 10- Future Plans: I hope to get into a great college. I want to be a veterinarian. I would love to continue to volunteer at church. I want to write a book about where I have traveled. I would like to live in a small cottage by the ocean, ride a dark purple or midnight blue bicycle with a silver basket. In 10 years, I will be in college, pursuing my career. Playing tennis. Traveling to Alaska. I will have 10 dogs. I will continue to be a happy, positive girl showing others to be kind to one another.” A lot of these “future plans” are different for her now, they’re not as grand. Now, she would like to get into UCLA. Studying law and being a psychologist is what seems to be interesting to her.

Madison joined the writing world because the authors of books she read showed her how words can make someone feel, and imagine a fictional or non-fictional world that comes from mere letters.
