Camila Gonzalez-Cruz is a freshman starting her first year at Desert Mountain High School and is also her first year being a member of Wolf’s Print. Although she doesn’t have much experience with journalism, she strives to expand her skill and knowledge for writing. Camila is determined to get further in depth with the world of business journalism and entertainment journalism. She is inspired by prominent publications such as Vogue and The Wall Street Journal and has come to realize the power of journalism and its ability to shape trends and opinions. Her passion for journalism was triggered when she first discovered the writings of Anna Wintour. Anna Wintour’s blend of constructive criticism and thoughtful praise made Camila spend hours reading her articles and reviews. Camila admires how Anna Wintour not only emphasizes the loudness and glitz of fashion but also gives critical opinions that challenge the industry, further improving it. Camila loves business journalism just as much, the rabbit hole of economic trends and the constantly changing dynamics of the stock market is what captivates her attention towards business. Camila enjoys learning more about the complexity of finance that helps traders make well thought out decisions and future potentials. Camila’s dual interest for both the arts and mathematics has given her a unique view on journalism, blending analytic thinking with creativity. Although Camila has yet to win any awards for her writing, her hopes are high. She dreams of earning at least one prestigious award to help her build a strong application to increase her chances of getting into a university with a renowned business school. With Camila’s passion for journalism she is on a promising path towards a successful career in business, where she hopes to have just as big of an impact as those in journalism.
