Recently, we had a speaker come to DM and speak on the causes and effects of drugs. She discussed the history of drugs and the horrific outcome of what they have become. She also touched upon the dangers of social media, your cell phone, and peer pressure.
As most of you know, last year we sadly lost a senior, Noa Ayala. He accepted some drugs from one of his friends and overdosed on fentanyl. This was such a devastation for Noa’s family, friends, and for DM. Noa’s family was at this presentation and his mother expressed her loss and mourning over her teenage son. Noa was a kind, hardworking young man who loved sports, his friends, and most of all, his family, his mother claims. Noa will be remembered and his story will be used as a way to remember to be careful and that saying “yes” even one time to any type of drug is not worth the risk.
Understanding the danger of drugs is very important and we hope every single person who left the auditorium learned something new.
Go wolves!
