Dora Elalaoui and Jack Yampolsky, a sophomore who performed in Little Shop of Horrors as Seamor and loves raisins and grapes very much, both sing Friday night, as a duet and as solos. They both sang Lemonade on Stage 1. Dora Elalaoui sang Can’t Take My Eye Off You on Stage 1, and Jack sang his own mixture of Best Part, The One, and Easy on Stage 1.

Dora’s advice for others wanting to audition for Coffee House: “Definitely own the stage. When you’re auditioning, think about how much you love what you do, and think about all the love and support you’ll get no matter what, that everyone is inviting, no one judges based off of anything, and it’s all just a happy, fun community. And to always do things, because if you don’t, you will regret it”.

Jack’s reason for performing: “For my solo, I started out, last year, wanting to do Best Part by Daniel Caesar, but I didn’t have enough time, so I was like ‘oh I’ll do it next year’ and as the year went on, I found more songs I wanted to do, and ‘I was like dang how can I do this’, so I figured out that they all fit in the same core progression, so I was like ‘I’ll just do a mash up’. And then for the other song, I texted my friend Dora, and I was like ‘Yo, we should do a song together’ and she was like ‘Yeah!’, and I was like ‘I got this song in mind’, and it was pretty simple, it was easy.”
